We would like to congratulate the medalists for their great games and sporting spirit. We have enjoyed being part - even though only in spirit and glued to our computer screens.

Thank you, Namibia National Team. You have provided us with great entertainment and pride. You also helped us water those small seeds of teamwork within our Namibian InLine hockey culture.

Have a safe journey home.

Day Five from Kuopio-hall

match 29 Thursday. The Namibian Team will face Hungary in this match. Hungary were defeated by Great Britain in a nerve-racking game on Tuesday evening, where the game went into overtime at 8:8 and had to be decided through a penalty shootout.

The game between Japan and Australia was tight this morning 7:6 in overtime. Australia gave Japan a good run for their position. The games seem slightly behind schedule. Our game today will be tough. We have Rene Werner fending our goal. 2min03 into the first period and Acos Mehes (22 - what is it with this number?) scores the first goal for Hungary. Three more goals follow for Hungary within the next 2 minutes. Ok, that is a bit more than a wake-up call. Rene, who else is on the field? Seems like a lot of Hungarians out there! Could we manage one more goal? No, final score Hungary 9 : Namibia 3. This was a good game. Our team stayed in the single figures parameter and managed to reduce the goal difference by a third. Nice.
