NIIHA is a non-profit member orientated association to further Ice and InLine Hockey as a team sport in Namibia. NIIHA has six members in Namibia and is a member of the International Ice and InLine Hockey Federation (IIHF). There are at least five annual league tournaments that are played in all age divisions to give players the opportunity to compete and further their skills.

Namibia has managed to qualify for the World Championships in 2004 for the WC in Kuopio/Finland in 2005 where Team Namibia has won the renowned Fair Play Trophy and managed to secure a automatic qualification for the World Championships in 2006. In Budapest our National Squad 2006 managed to improve our world ranking. Although our team managed to improve their game considerably during the 2007 IIHF Men's World Championship our squad was relegated for 2008.

2008 was the first year for NIIHA to enter three teams to participate at international events: A 14 and under Namibian federation squad participated at the "FIRS Junior Olympics" to create awareness around the application to allow Inline Hockey as an Olympic discipline. A 18 and under Namibian National squad participated at the FIRS Junior Men's World Championships for 2008 and the Namibian National Ladies team participated at the FIRS Women's World Championships 2008. In December 2008 NIIHA hosted the Inter-Conti Cup 2008 in Swakopmund. Besides the local teams competing at the Cup two Brazilian teams entered to bring back home the gold medal won by Team Namibia in 2007 at the VII Southern American Championships. Please click here for news clips.
